Anyone have bluetooth problems with the BB Bold cell phone and the car?
Im not sure if the phone is faulty... but sometimes when it connects, it doesent send the voice of the other party through bluetooth...

anyone?

My BB Bold seems to work flawlessly through bluetooth in the X5.

Check your operating system version on the BB. My wife was having a few sync issues and when I looked it up there were something like 40 updates that had occurred since we bought it. Now syncs quicker and better network connections/battery life etc...

Latest version is v4.6.0.451 (Beta) or v4.6.0.266 (Stable) see (Options>About)

Wow, thank you for your response! Didnt quite think i could get a good answer here @ the forum, was thinking of returning the cell phone, or the X5 (jk)...

I have the following on the Bold BB
V4.6.0.162


How do I upgrade?

I have a Mac, so i could not use the CD that the phone brings, i downloaded some thing on the site dough, just to zinc my contacts.. but thats it...

No probs...

Go to Blackberry.com and download the desktop manager here called pocketmac. Once program is installed, connect your BB and open Pocketmac. I haven't set my Mac up with it but it should be the same as below.

Navigate to and click on application loader as shown below (windows version shown)



Your phone will go white, and take anything up to 20 minutes to do so but if you follow the prompts it will simply update all your applications and the operating system from within this program.

If you have any probs with that let me know and I will guide you through a manual upgrade....

I have a work issued Bold. Just had the BB OS upgraded 2 weeks ago. My only issue is that rarely I'd loose call quality from the other party -- not sure its because I am in a weak signal area or the shortcoming of the bluetooth itself.

I still would like to know if anyone knows a quick way to disable bluetooth when I want to take my call private when there are passengers in the car.

The call quality is usually the signal.... From memory, (have to check) press the Speakerphone ($) button when in paired mode to take the call private...

thanks much! will give that a try. I assume once the call ends , the phone will be paired and ready for the next call again?
