I went to the company today, and was quoted 2 options:
1. 27,000 DHS which is 7,400 USD. They will put a layer of any color (excluding black, white, gold, and chrome) and then put a layer of matte vinyl over it.
2. For 17,000 Dhs which is about 4,600 USD. They will put a layer of matte vinyl directly over your current car paint to make it matte.
3. I did not find the price, but for black and white, they have a single layer vinyl already made. This will be around 22,000-26,000 (My Guess)
ALL THE PRICES ARE FOR THE ENTIRE 07+ E70 X5

As for an installer in the US, some specialty shops should have them, but I am unsure. The company here specializes in this and has done many many high end and standard cars.

In high risk parts of the world with lots of carjacking, several company's re-paint all company cars right off the dealer lot matte to make them less attractive to thieves...

tell your insurance agent that story...

How do you keep the paint work protected? normally you would use a good wax or synthetic coating etc but wouldn't this just stuff up the Matt look and make it shine.

Hi Bozz,

I think the Matte Black is a vinyl cover placed over the original paint work, they do race cars with it here but I don't think I have ever seen a road car done with it here in Brisbane.

So whats your plans with your angel eyes?

I still want to sort the angel eyes out but cant find the specific halogen bulb description that lights them up. I think that the bulb could be an 2825 c5w type but I am not sure. Lance in the spare parts dept cant even find them listed anywhere on his computer either.
