4-wheel alignment cost...

I got a quote from a local BMW dealer for a 4-wheel alignment on my ride for $234.99. It seem to be quite high...what do you pay for your 4-wheel alignment at your dealer?

Thanks,

You don't need to go to a dealer for an alignment. Check out a reputable BMW indy shop and they'll do it for $150-200 and apply any BMW CCA discounts as applicable. Good shops will also give you a printout of the before-after specs (most of which I don't understand anyway).

Consider yourself lucky. I paid $550 for my Cayenne alignment.

$149 for my dealer... they dropped it from $169... I guess you really do have to ask around.

They are always 4-wheel alignments right?

Usually $189 or $420 if your truck has active steering like mine. They claim that there is 2 hours of extra labor involved when aligning cars with active steering. Also BMW requires that a series of weights be placed at certain points in the truck during the alignment. I searched many independent shops and none of them followed this procedure. The dealer does this, I witnessed it myself. I think its really important

I was quoted the $169 back in February 09 by Aldo Garcia @ Crevier BMW.

Plus I'm pretty sure I've seen ads by New Century BMW for alignment specials @ around $169 (though I can't confirm that since I tossed the ads away).

I think regular price for the alignment usually runs around $249, but you can usually negotiate and ask for a discount. I always mention that I'm BMW CCA member (though that typically applies more to parts and not sure if it really gives me discounts at service).
