Long time stalker, 1st post with pics

Hello all:

Just like the title says, long time stalker, first time poster. Great site by the way. Thanks to all for the useful information posted; it definitely helped with my decision to buy this X5. So, I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months while I searched for my perfect car. I finally found an almost fully loaded 2007 X5 with sport, premium, comfort access, rear entertainment, cold weather, and a bunch of other goodies I'm not even sure of yet as I'm still trying to take it all in, but for sure, this is one awesome car. Just sold a 2006 M Coupe for the X5 and couldn't be happier.

Since purchase (2 weeks ago today), I've tinted the front windows with 30% llumar film, lowered it with H&R front springs and custom rear links, and installed 22x10 forged Mint M100 Monobloc wheels in color match and machined finish. I'm extremely happy with the ride of the 22" wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. It probably has something to do with the wheels being so light, but I feel like it rides better than the factory 20" wheels with Michelin Latitudes. Surprised for sure.

Soon to follow, AC Schnitzer front and rear add-on pieces. They just arrived today and will be installed next week. I will be color matching the fender flares and other black plastic pieces. Yes, pictures will follow.

Need some exhaust ideas besides Eisenmann and Remus, so I might try something custom.

Comments, suggestions, thoughts, observations, opinions??

Welcome! Your truck looks great. The ACS trim will be very nice. I'm new on here as well. I'm going to do a Magnaflow custom. I already found and ordered the staggered tips.

Good luck and post more pics when you get more stuff put on!

Great looking truck, those wheels are gorgeous. It surprised me that most people with X5's who mod their wheels stick with OEM varients, but then I was looking at the options on Tire Rack and there basically are none so it makes sense. I assume those Mints are custom width and offset and cost you a small fortune?

Are your rear links set at the lowest setting or in the middle setting. I am installing my rear links and front springs as well and Im curious as to how youve set yours up.

Thx

Good question Kerry! I'm going to be lowering mine as well.

The rear links are about 10mm shorter than the stock links. I may be off by a bit as there was some tweaking involved after things settled, but that should be a good estimate.

I recommend setting them at about 10mm shorter, installing front springs, and driving about 10-15 miles to let the springs settle. As the front settles, the rear will change a bit, so don't be too concerned about getting it right the first time.

awesome looking X, and welcome.

I would still go with the Eisenmann exhaust, it sounds the best. Where did you get your H&R springs from?

Get some clears too!

This might be a dumb question but I see a lot of 07' with that Xdrive emblem on the side of the truck. Mine doesnt have that?

Hartge exghaust sounds great!!! Very subtle under normal acceleration, but when you step on it she roars! Oval or round tips based on what you like, ovals look close to stock. Mufflers are smaller (two small vs on big) and lighter....

Congrats on the purchase ! I'm not a big fan of modding--I guess e70s are going to start to get more mods now that the used ones are increasing in numbers just like when the e53 came out. So, what were the details on the purchase---price, mileage, is it a CPO, etc ?
