It made us smile because we feel your pain. Your posts were witty and not the usual whining when someone is waiting.

I'll be placing my order in about 4 weeks. Payback is a bitch

Ha bloody ha. It's not nice to tease. You know firsthand the emotions that I am going through waiting for my auto to arrive.

Oh right. emotions like: anxiety, frustration, anger, helplessness, panic attacks,.... I'd go on but I don't know whether you have any sharp objects at hand So, I recommend chilling out by going to a movie --- The Hangover comes to mind

BTW don't worry about the vintage Mercedes. Its not a BMW

Good advice, but I have seen it twice already and my X5 is still not here. So now what?

So now we know why the Vegas quip hit a nerve. "What if my delivery truck driver was like one of those clowns and woke up in Vegas with no money, an empty truck and no memory of the previous night?"

Well there's always my old standby -- beer. Maybe by the time your X5 gets there you'll have enough empties to build a garage

I love beer but I am allergic to it. Now I'm getting really depressed.

So it's 17 hrs and 4 min* before you take delivery. You've searched the net high and low (as in brow) and still can't find the one unique BMW accessory that you need to make it perfect -- a custom license plate holder reading...

"My other diesel is a Kubota"

See I didn't forget eyeguy

Desperate times require desperate measures.

If I couldn't drink beer, I'd resort to plan B:
Call the trucking co CEO and "suggest" that you heard someone saying that they might kidnap his/her spouse/kids/pets. But if a certain X5 showed up at a certain dealer in say 48 hours, you were pretty sure you could talk them out of it. So...
a - it might work
b - they might call your bluff
c - you'd have a brand new X5 waiting when you got out of jail

Two out of three ain't bad

You won't know unless you try.

Or maybe I'll purchase a one way plane ticket to Texas. It's obvious that the delivery truck passes through there soon!

FWIW the BMW NA website finally caught up with reality this afternoon and told us that our X5 was at our BMW Center.

For the record, our X5 had been delivered late Saturday and I already had pictures of it being driven to service Monday AM (yesterday) [see above]. So over the course of the build the BMW NA site was chronically behind actual events by 2-3 days But the 800# was much more timely - typically delayed by less than 24 hours The best info source however was our SA's emailed screen dumps which were both more timely and contained more detailed info..
