Just like its wrong for insurers to deny you coverage for things that you buy insurance for!
I wasn't suggesting to let the ins. co. get gouged, I was objecting to the insurance company balking at repairing the windshield with OEM glass (which is an assumption i made based on the OP saying they weren't happy with the cost).

My family business is an insurance agency for the last 70 some odd years, I'm not into insurance fraud, sorry if it came across that way. I was defending the OP's right to have the repairs made with OEM glass.

i don't mind using another option but i have read that the process should take a few days, not a 1 day job like most insurance companies do with their 'recommended' shops (what they did for our H2). but that car doesnt need pampering haha
Every company is different, but a $100 deductable is a ripoff. Time to switch to a different company. I think full glass coverage on both of my cars is included in my premium for $0 cost and $0 deductable.

i'm not 100% about car insurnace (i don't really deal with it another family member does) but don't you get to pick your deductable? and the higher your deductable the lower the payment for your insurance. $100 deductable isn't bad.

Usually, deductables only come into play with liability, comprehensive and collision, not glass. If you have $100 deductable on liability/collision/comp, I think that you're wasting your money, bump it to $500 or $1000 and save yourself some coin.
