3.0is vs 35d ride impression

My boss got an Xdrive 35d recently. He really liked my X and all the marketing I did on BMW's behalf about their diesel (I would have waited for the diesel if not for the awesome deal I was getting on my 3.0si)

Anywayz, the other day I was riding in the back of his X and I felt the ride was stiffer than mine. This is really strange indeed 'cause he does not even have the sports package while mine does. He also does not have the 3rd row seating which I have and comes with the auto-leveling rear suspension. I am guessing the auto-leveling suspension seems to cushion the rear quarters better. I have tried it both with and without the sports setting switched on.

Now, I am guessing this would also apply to any other non-3rd row seat equipped X5 as well.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
