I just ordered a 2010 35d yesterday, and I can tell you they have changed the packages in the US as well. Primarily, the Sports package.
ZAP Sports Activity Package ($2200):
black high-gloss shadowline trim around the windows (very cool), black anthracite headliner, sport stearing wheel, sport seats, 19" wheels, and the titanium grill. What does not come included in this package is the sport suspension. This now comes in a seperate package:
2VA Adaptive Drive ($3500)
So I was too pondering whether I wanted to get the sports package. When I was shopping for the 4.8, the sports package with the 20" y-spoke wheel upgrade was an absolute must!!! The reason for me is that the wheels only cost around an additonal $900. For the 35d, this is not the case, I can live without the sports package for the following reasons:
You cannot get the 20" wheels as an option, you have to purchase them seperate. So whats the point of upgrading to 19's if you dont need them. If you are going to get 20's anyways, might as well stick with the 18's that come with the non-sport.
Also, I hate chrome trim around the windows(4.8 non-sport). However, on the 35d non-sport, there is the regular black trim. It may not be the really nice shadowline trim, but its still way nicer than the chrome.
I am probably going to paint my grill black to body match, so thats not important for me either. I can live without the anthracite headliner and the sports stearing wheel. But the big issue for me was the seats. Regular seats are boring, so I decided to one-up the sport seats and get the comfort seats for $1200.
Now the only thing I am concerned with is the ride height and handeling. When I test drove the 35d it was a non-sport, and all I can say is that tearing up the upderpass on the freeway at 80mph in pouring rain was proof enough for me that the regular suspension is sporty enough!!! It was the salesman that was driving, but I was impressed regardless. Hopefully, when I put 21's (style 128 or 239) on the e70, it will not look bad. I hope theres not a huge gap in the wheel well, if so I might have to use the lowering kit others have been using on this board.
