Order Placed - Now the wait begins
First of all - thanks to everyone on this forum...so much information available to process!
So I did it - the order has been placed 2010 BMW X5 35d - Black Sapphire (If by chance Sophisto Grey is not limited to the 10th Edition, I'm switching in a heartbeat!) - Nevada Black Leather - Dark Bamboo High Gloss Trim - Premium PKG - Exec PKG - Tech PKG - Running Boards - Anthracite Roof Liner ETA - is Nov 2009 ![]() Need some help here... So I've decided to NOT get the Sport PKG and instead keep the 18's for Winter and get 214's for the Summer - thoughts? The waiting begins - lucky the internet is a LARGE space to poke around for information ![]()

How is the (sport pkg.) suspension different?

I agree. Get the sport package. Add the 20's and fender flares later.

I thought that 19's that come with the Sports PKG are summers and not for winter? Also, if I get order without the Sports PKG, when I get 20's, will I need to do any lowering or spacers...or will it work right out of the box? Thanks. |

Sport pkg 19s are all-seasons, at least for US. 20s if you get from the dealer are the summers. The 20s don't need any extra work whether you're coming from 18s or 19s - just throw them on. I'm very satisfied with 20" all-seasons here in NY year round. You may need winter tires instead of those 19" all-seasons up there in CA. If you don't want the sport pkg, then you may as well stick with the 18s and throw winter rubber on. I'll never tell anyone to stay away from the sport pkg though...

Are the 19" "all seasons" RFT's? |

I'm 90% sure that all new BMWs come with RFTs.

If you're planning to run studded tires in the winter, then you'll want to keep your 18's! I ordered the sport package with 19's and later discovered that no one makes studdable 19" tires. Luckily a friendly forum member here gave me a solid deal on his take-off 18" set, which are in the mail right now and may just get here before my new X5 does. Did you get to drive a diesel before ordering one? The motor is heavenly. Best, Full Speed |
