How did you come across your PCD date? I ordered my 3.5d about a week after you but still have no production or PCD date yet. Wondering if I need to push harder with the CA...

I'd push harder.

I placed my order Sept 3rd and requested a specific date. The dealer got an email from the performance center stating they could not give me any date until I went into production status. The dealer pushed it for me and I received an email a few days later saying I'm scheduled for my requested date. I'm not sure if it helped that the dealer told the performance center that if I didn't get the date I requested, my next available date was three weeks later.

The date confirmation does state not to make travel arrangements until 3 weeks prior in case of production delays.

We've worked with this dealer when I purchased my M3 ... I knew they would go out of their way to make us happy. I didn't bug them, but would have if they would've taken another week.

I just ordered one as well.

Here was deal I got in Orlando, Florida.

Base Price 47,105.00
ZAP Sport Activity Package 3,090.00
ZPP Premium Package 3,095.00
ZTP Tech Package 2,550.00
ZRC Rear Climate Control 820.00
386 Roof Rails 90.00
6FL Ipod Adapter 365.00
655 Sat Radio 320.00
322 Comfort Access 910.00
328 Runnings Board 275.00
ZPS Premium Sound Package 1,685.00
Destination 825.00
Training 180.00
Floor Mats 97.55
Advertising 200.00
Detailing 110.05
Total 61,717.60
Additional Dealer Profit 1,389.00
Cash Sale Price 63,106.60
BMW Incentive -4,500.00
Cash Sale Price 58,606.60

I know I could have likely done better, but just didn't have time to hassle with the guy any more and I felt that slots on the 3.5ds were being harder to come by.

Ended up being just under $1500 over invoice.

True. We are going with titanium silver w/ black since no more gray option. Have a production number, don't know when it will be built though.

Why should you pay for detailing on a new car? I told a dealer in St. Louis to get bent when they wanted a 300.00 get ready charge.

It's really all just additional profit / overhead. $300 is outrageous. At the end it really all comes down to a time/cost trade off when haggling. For me they claimed it was paid to some outside vendor to detail the car. I told them to let me see the invoice for that and I'd pay it directly. I think it really was some type of autobutler product?

How and where did you get a production number the same day as ordering?

Are you a bit worried about the black interior in FL?

The day after we agreed on numbers my sales personr faxed me vehicle inquiry report which shows a production number and status (111) order accepted by AG, priority 1 (customer sold), etc.

I think perhaps they had a 3.5d slot which was scheduled and still 111.
