I would love to see a very subtle X5 embroidered on the headrest!

I'd think of getting it embroidered before putting a decal on it. That's just my take, but anyhow, here's a quick Photochop of it on beige (or the best beige that I could make). I hope that you get the idea.

I happened to come across this type of thing on the CTS-V. Cadillac | 2009 CTS-V Luxury Sports Sedan - Interior Photo Gallery (3rd pic on bottom)... that's tastefully done, especially because it's a special V vehicle, and it's punched into the seat itself. I don't think a big X5 emblem screened into the seat really does anything here. That's almost the same size and font as the "X5" on my license plate frame actually.

If it's small & subtle, that would be in better taste in my opinion also.

So funny you mention that vehicle. I can agree with that as I have one. Just picked up an 09 Silver. Depends on the seats you get. I ordered the Recaro and they have a "V" racing decal that is more in the center portion of the seat as opposed to the headrest! Hum... with 556 HP / 551 lb/ft ... who needs an "M"!!!! LOL!

^ the interior beats the M3 by miles IMO. BMW needs to work on that for the 3s.

I'd vote "NO', unless you could have one embroidered.

Agreed. Normally I wouldn't look at a domestic brand but this one just had all the right elements to set it apart from the crowd.

I usually like your suggestions, but I'm going to have to say to this one.
