seatbelt clip leaving dings

so i've had my e70 for less than 1 year. sometime if i remove seatselt too quick the clip retracts and hits the panel next to it. not sure what it's call. A pillar or B pillar. now the area has tiny dots of damage, black interior makes it more visible. i guess it's kind of unavoidable since the material isn't very strong.

anyone else has this issue? not sure what i can do about it. as time passes it will get worse regardless of how careful i am.

i thought about having someone make a piece of black brushed aluminum and stick it there but i have no idea who offers this kind of service and how it would look.

any ideas?

No ideas on how to resolve, but definitely used to happen on my E70 too.

When I looked for my used E70, all of them have the same nicks and dings on the lower both sides of B-pillars because of the seatbelts. (black interior).

I'm careful to just gently let it retract without hitting the pillar, I don't even have to think about it - I don't agree that it'll get damaged no matter how careful you are, unless you have a lot of careless passengers I suppose

I noticed a few chips as well. I am going to cut out and place a small piece of clear contact paper there. Guess we need to put a clear bra on the inside too.

I have this issue as well and just discussed this with a custom installer this past weekend. I may put a large piece of velcro in this area or otherwise patch it. My X5 is 13 months old and both sidesd are quite noticable.

i thought about just using a black touch up pen but i need to find the right color. as long as it's not noticeable im happy. the dings are grey colored so if i paint it black it would look invisible.

had my E70 for over two years and never had the issue! Perhaps because being short, my seat is that bit further forward and seems to take some of the energy out of the retraction.
