I do believe they go to the BMW Prep center near the ports (at the ports maybe) first before heading to the dealer. However, according to Liberty Maritime (ship carrier for aforementioned autos) does take BMW's from Spartanburg to other areas within the USA (maybe not all the time - ) as well as other countries in the world.
