"I think it all boils down to the fact of Detroit building vehicles catering to the lowest common denominator of driving abilities and training of the majority of drivers in the US. Most people on our roads really have nowhere near the skill required to operate those vehicles at the speeds that they do everyday. Thus, Detroit continues to put out crap that will appease the masses, and will be loose enough to work in traffic without causing many wrecks by dismally uneducated, arrogant, and plain stupid US drivers. "

I thought the post was about the quality of a Cadillac versus a BMW or other marques. Does that mean that when I drive my sons Chevy Impala I suddenly become arrogant, uneducated and plain stupid. What happens to me when I'm in my companies' Honda Accord? am I in between what I assume I must be when I drive my X5, an educated, gracious and intelligent driver? Blanket statements like that above is what gives ***hole BMW drivers a bad rep. Unnecessary and not relevant.

According to Low Note, even when we drive our BMWs we are arrogant, uneducated, and plain stupid. Those of us who weren't professionally trained how to drive in Germany just drive BMWs for the status, we have no business driving such a fine machine.

Just call me Buffy....

Just tried to post a reply and it went into cyberspace. That was not the intent of my post. Sure, when you learn to drive in Germany, or any other western European or Scandinavian country, it is much more difficult to get a license, and many people (including yours truly) flunk the test the first time or two. But I was being sarcastic in my remarks about untrained drivers, etc. Most people in the US never have to really learn how to drive a car properly before they earn their license. No, you don't have to learn to drive in Germany or Austria, France, Finland, etc. to get a license. But we should certainly require anyone wanting to earn the right to drive to show more advanced driving skills. Most BMW drivers are very good, probably because they know that their vehicles are superior. But some are not, which is one of the reasons why so many non-BMW drivers call all of us arrogant and stupid. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I was simply attempting a bit of black humor.
