Nice! The trim looks like the dark burl walnut though. Maybe it's just the lighting in the picture.

Which of the three is yours? I assume Mom gets the new one?

Thanks for the comments guys!

The trim is darker than the Light Poplar on the E53, but all the documents say it is Light Poplar wood. It is nowhere near Dark Poplar of an E53, so I do believe it is Light Poplar.

I don't drive yet, nor do I even have a learner's permit for driving. I will be getting the older E53 as a first car though. My mom will get the new X5, but my dad is driving it now to break it in. My dad's 25 mile round trip commute of mixed driving is much better to the new X5 than my mom's 1 mile commute of just local driving.

The color combo is great! Very, very unique.

You didn't happen to be at the Lowes in Paterson tonight, were you? Saw a red X5 that was leaving just as I parked. You're also on mbworld.org?

Also on MBWorld.org as we were thinking about a ML320 Blutec when it first came out. Never happened though.

We weren't at Lowes tonight. Probably saw another Vermilion Red X5!

Damn...getting the e53 as a first car! That is sweet. My first car was a 10 year old (at the time) 1984 318i with a few rust spots. Think I paid $1,700 for it and the A/C was broken.

Yes, it'll be a very nice first car and I'll be taking extreme care until the day I get it. Just finished washing the car and Rejex-ing the car. Won't have to worry about leaving it outside anymore! Here's a quick picture of it "curing" with the it's new brother.
