A car is for the moment. Enjoy it whilst you can. If you wait until 2011, chances are more will be around the corner for 2012, 2013 ... the next X5, etc, etc.
I've missed out on the new i-Drive twice now.
I purchased a 2008 M3. In 2009 the new idrive was released on the M3.
I purchased a 2009 X5, In 2010 the new idrive was released in the X5 !
Regrets? Nah ....

With all the missing, do you think you should be giving buying advice?

Seriously, I agree. If the car has the features you want now, then I see no reason to wait. like the 35d for is low end power and great fuel economy. Diesel fuel cost is a wild car in the scheme of things. It may end up costing more than premium in the next year or so. That means a tt might be a better bet. Who knows.
I wouldn't wait for a mid cycle facelift that just included bumpers. If the interior is upgraded (E60 LCI) then that might be something to wait for. Otherwise, I'd just buy now.
