Weird Fog Light Problem on 2010 X5?

Well I just got my finace a 2010 X5 for Xmas. We have a slight problem on the intial start up of the car the Driver Side fog light comes on and flashes twice and stays on for about 2-3 minutes then shuts off completely? There are no error codes or anything and the only reason I noticed it is bc we drive to work the same way. Any reason for this?

Loose wire or short. Could even be a bad bulb. Probably a 10 minute fix, but obviously a trip to the dealer will be required.

One non-problem to rule out: The fogs will light when you are backing up, and one or the other may turn off/turn on depending on how you are turning the wheel. This happens even if you don't turn the fogs on and is designed to provide additional lighting during backing / turning maneuvers.
