I came in at $1300 over invoice. It was easier to negotiate since the car was being ordered and they had allocations available. Most dealers want to sell all of their allocations.

Yes, I'm in PDX- Rasmussen is the dealer, but this is a factory order. Good luck!

Thanks Montoya...have a call into Rasmussen. I did get a call from Salem BMW and while they have no X35D's they do have an allocation to order one. The salesman is checking to make sure that the eco-credit would stay in place on this as delivery would be 6 to 8 weeks according to him. I guess the good part is that I'd get exactly what I want. Plus I can sell my X5 locally and have that out of the way rather than trade it in. Now I can't decide between space grey or platinum bronze....

As long as you order before Jan. 4th, you get your ECO credit. Good luck!

Guess I'm ordering; nothing to be found that is under $60k on the lot that isn't spoken for. So far 1 dealer has quoted $1,500 to $2,000 off of MSRP for a X35D, Rasmussen in Portland; but they said they have a best price policy so will match others. Waiting on 3 other dealers to get back to me with quotes. Now my big choice is between platinum bronze or space grey. That part makes me happy, the process of the purchase... (bleah).

any luck in SoCal?

I wish I was having the same luck as many of you in Southern California. Best I've come up with for something in inventory is $500 off MSRP.

If I could get $1500 over MSRP, I'd sign papers today.

This is your problem.

I would venture the opinion that NOBODY is getting 'deals' on the few in stock cars in the next few days...dealers are fully aware of the end-of-year tax ramifications.

Furthermore, just in general, buyers that 'need to buy today' have given up a strategic advantage... dealers know it, and will make them pay. There are just not a lot of 35d's laying around, and they command a higher price to drive home today.

You can't build to order? Per my info: If dealer has allocation, you can have delivery before Feb 28 and the eco-credit. But order should be in as sold before Jan 4.

re: build to order

I'm kind of a rookie at car shopping, I "built my own" and submitted on the BMW site, but haven't heard anything back from a dealer.

kind of late in the game, but it's not a must buy right now. I can wait it out and even go CPO if down the line a bit...

of course, as I type this, we're looking at one in Santa Monica tonight

I contacted 4 dealers; ended up emailing the build configuration and so far I have 3 dealers giving me quotes. The other...(shrug)

Best price so far is $2,000 under MSRP.

Like LeMansX5 said, if the dealer has allocation you should be able to get the eco-credit. It may take a little more leg work but it's worth it.

So I built it as:
Platinum Bronze, Tobacco Leather, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Sat Radio, Space Saver spare, iPod Interface adapter, All weather rubber mats and running boards.

If the price gets low enough I'll add PDC or comfort access
