While that may be true in some cases, I think it unfair to paint with such a wide brush. I know of several tire repair technicians who routinely perform such repairs and take much pride in what they do as well as consider the safety of those who ride on the tires they repair. Many of them may not have taken a course at all, they may have learned from other older and well respected mechanics/technicians who passed down information and also kept abreast of new technology as well.
