Nope, but it's performance has made a crying towel a new BMW option for when it hands M3/M5 owners their azzes!

In my opinion, there IS NOT a Nicer Sedan made for the money!

Sorry for the original post hi-jack!

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't an M3, driven by a 22 year old dude, win the CTS-V challenge put on by GM?

I consider my X5 "slow" compared to other cars I have driven and friends cars. I ordered a LP640, but cancelled due to a tragic event. I want something which has luxury, class, and style yet still is FAST.

I guess its sort of complicated why I am stuck between the 2...
If you want something with the best both worlds maybe consider picking up a used MB E55 211. I just sold mine about a month ago that had done an 11.5 in a 1/4 mile at Sac. Raceway with a trap speed of 123mph. I only invested a few grand in aftermarket parts to make thing thing a true beast. You can pick one up now for about $28-35k depending on miles and yr.

I agree on the depreciation, but as for reliability, I wouldn't give BMW very high marks.

You got me there!

You're right........He was the fastest of the privateers! The ringers (Johnny O'Connell of Corvette/Caddy Racing and John Heinricy of GM Engineering and driver of the Sub 8 second Neubergring lap) did run faster, but they can drive better than most peeps can!

My comeback to that though is to take both cars, which have been proven to handle well and take them to the drag strip and see whose quicker there! I guarantee that I gotcha there!

I just said the CTS-V to prove my point as to what a blower can do in an OEM application.

I've had my e53 for 9 years (in about 2 weeks) and it's been a tank. Any reliability list that gets put out and LR is way far down compared to BMW.

If your seriously concerned with smoking range rovers go with the x5m. Maybe even have it tuned....I wonder what if any improvement in the already stellar 0-60 time could be had for say 20k. Comparing the full size rr and the x5 is apples and oranges. If you want performance get the x5 if you only require straight line pull but your taste emphasizes utility and luxury go with the RR SC autobio or whatever. Either way you will be a happy man as you do not strike me as the individual concerned with out of warranty service cost And btw forget that rr sport its a hunk of trash. I test drove the face-lifted model as soon as it came out...thinking I would like it better than I did in 07...nope. Cockpit feels cramped which is not the case with the full size range and the seats are no where near as supportive as bmw's..also I have become way accustomed to my panoramic sunroof

Hummm... and here I thought the message I was responding to was talking about Cadillac reliability....

If you want to talk about LR reliability, I would agree that it is worse than BMW.
