yah... back in the days of the E46 ///M3 they marked it up $15k over MSRP... that's how it was all bay area dealerships. that's probably a good example of why some refer to them as stealerships..

Hurray for supply and demand, the essence of the free market system!

As the OP stated "stealership" was just a joke. Nothing too serious about it. Many people refer to them as stealerships in jest!

Back on topic! Congrats on your new ride Phatbam, good thing you got in before the facelift!!! love the m-sport pkg!

Haha I agree with you, if I was the dealer I would seek the highest margins as well. Just poking fun as AUS said. I did actually abandon my local dealer. I agree with AUS you may just have the best year/m package combo lol! Heres to hoping I dig the LCI in person

Really? You mean you would turn a paying customer away (money in exchange for work done, that IS the reason you are in business, right?) because of their attitude or opinion? Good customer service means treating the people with the money with respect, and doing a good job of acting to make them think you care.

I will agree that there are some customers you would rather not have to deal with, but they also help pay the bills.

We are tending to paint this in extremes, IMO. That said, if it was my boss' decision to take that work, I would respect that. If it was my own business, I would potentially turn it away. Having worked in a shop that had far more work than it could handle, turning away work was a regular occurence. I would choose to turn away work from those not likely to be satisfied, so as to allow more time to complete the work of those who valued my services. It is a two way street. Providing good service at a fair price means that they can be lined up at the door. Not always, there were always slow times as well. I remember towing vehicles 100 km at the owner's requests, just to get them to the shop. That was a great place to work, one that had a great reputation.

I fully understand and support treating customers with respect. Customers should also treat their suppliers with respect. Some shops may not deserve it, and that was why I asked at the beginning of this thread what the dealership did to lose the OP's trust.
