Apparently, the shaowline trim really is gone and replaced by silver trim -- looks far less aggressive and cheap. That's definitely the first mod.

I think those are European spec models from the config tool. If Im not mistaken the shadowline is still standard in the US for sport pack models. I like the looks of Shadowline but I sure wish they could make it more scratch resistant.

There are four 'trim' options:

1) Matte black
2) high gloss black (shadowline)
3) chrome
4) Aluminum satin

I don't know. Maybe someone who has ordered an X5 recently can tell us how the salespeople explain this?
