That's a little confusing, isn't it? If brakes, rotors, discs are covered under the 4year/50k maintenance, but not covered under warranty....what's going to keep BMW from not paying? Can't they just say it's not under warranty?

just got a phone call from my SA to give status of my vehicle. He said they've sent pics of the defective light knob and steering wheel finish to BMWNA yesterday and so far, they have not received a denial (when I asked if repair of those defects are covered under warranty) which no "NO" is a good news. In fact, he said they have parts re: steering wheel in stock and will order the light knob part.

So, I guess it depends on the dealership, i don't know why others doesn't covered the defects.

What is wrong with people?

Re: brakes, rotors, discs

It is covered under the maintenance plan, it is not covered under the warranty. They will rightly say "It is not covered under warranty but is covered under our maintenance plan". Very few people will be confused.

If a rotor BREAKS, then it IS covered under the warranty since it did not 'wear out', but actually failed due to a defect....

In response to an email I sent to the dealer yesterday they have now promised to replace the "defective" parts at their cost. They are on order and will be installed sometime next week. Case closed - I hope.

Jime60, glad things sounds like they are working out.

I was denied coverage for light switch peel. I'm still trying to get my issue resolved. Looks like I'm making some head way too.

Which dealership do you go to?
