Cross-drilled rotors are so '90s ricer. BMW stock brakes, and even stock brake pads are good enough for most purposes on the track. Not that anyone would seriously consider tracking their 2200kg truck.

What is funny?

The increased tendency to crack?
The reduction in structural integrity of the rotor?
The reduced thermal mass, promoting earlier brake fade?

Yes, you will be reducing unsprung weight. However, if low weight was important to you you probably wouldn't be driving an E70.

I agree with the majority here, cross drilled rotors are a waste of money, not as good as plain rotors and are simply wheel bling. Replacement cross drilled rotors are a joke. The only way I would go cross drilled is if the car was designed with them as stock or if I upgraded to a big brake kit.

Any of you geniuses want to come up with a shred of data that supports changing to drilled rotors for street use as an 'upgrade'? (And no, not marketing fluff.)

(We are not talking about a reegineered race system for track use with cross drilled rotors.)

Maybe you think the 'drilled AND slotted' rotors would make you cars look really cool... some 22"s, maybe LEDs on the windshield washers too.

TC...exactly what IS your problem? Why not enlighten us with your expert opinion if you have one.

OK I'll help. This is not a recommendation but is a start.
I just googled your request and this is what I found.

PS For track applications I would consider slotted if needed- you still get release of gasses swept off the surface, but without the loss of thermal mass, and without the propensity for thermal stress around the holes leading to failure.

While I agree 100% with that statement, why not just move on. Does it make you feel good to bash someone?
