MY CAR HAS EMAIL?

I received a call from a service advisor at the dealer stating that they received an email from my car with a code. She said it might just be a low tire pressure but wanted me to bring the car in for service just to make sure all is well..... interesting!!!!

Yes, I do have BMW Assist! Just never received a call from the dealer before and I've had several codes in the past....

Dealer would love the opportunity to charge you, or BMWNA, for a diagnostic visit.

If the vehicle is under warranty, and full service, and the car's system generated the contact, why would the customer be charged for the visit? Not challenging, just asking for future reference. Thanks.

Somebody pays. If it is warranty, then BMWNA pays the dealer. Remember the dealership is a third party in the owner/BMW relationship.

If it is something dumb, it might not be covered by BMWNA (flush and fill of tires).

But I'd agree with you it isn't the customer that is charged, but it is the dealer that makes money!

On an unrelated note, my car keeps spamming me and sending me Mercedes jokes. How the hell do I get it to stop?
