Aftermarket Multimedia for rear passengers

I'm looking into buying something decent for the rear passengers.

Does anybody have experience with this piece of kit??
DVB-T Empfänger für Auto, Boot, LKW, Bus Diversity-Receiver

The bracket and way of fixing it to the rear center console looks similar as the OEM multimedia option.

If you have another solution I am really interested to see it.

I've heard people mention that it gets in the way of the armrest when folded down but you need to always leave it up if you want easy access to the center console. What year is your X5? I am partial to the headrest systems but still looking for a good aftermarket solution. I just found this though (missed it the first time): http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-related-...t-systems.html

Too bad no saddle brown...

I found this company that does headrests dvd's. Not sure if they are any good or not. They say it works with X5 active headrest systems.

I've found someone in the UK that says they can embed screens in the OEM active headrests without impacting on the functioning of the headrests. I am going to visit them sometime in the next couple of weeks and discuss the install in detail.

They will even re-upholster the headrest when you want to sell the car so you can transfer the screens and DVD player to your next car.

If you want OE stuff, then go with the BMW setup that is actually made by Invision Industries.

I asked my dealer for the OEM install.. They quoted me 3.400 euros!! For that amount of money I rather go aftermarket and get something really decent..

Will check into the Invision route. Really good tip and maybe they can give a better offer..

Which OEM install were you quoted? Dual headrest units or the one center console screen?

Just buy the setup and install it yourself. Forget the dealer.

The Dual headrest units wich in europe is another version as the one from invision industries.

I also found this aftermarket option wich looks really good. The units are upholstered in OEM leather and work with touch screens. I think I am going to get a quote on these. This version will not compromise the active headrests.

They look good, but personally I'd go with the OE BMW setup since you know the leather is a perfect match, the wiring harness is made for your car, and they will be warrantied by BMW, etc.
