Iphone sync problems with 2008 X5

Hi Guys,
I have a 2008 BMW X5 4.8i with the bluetooth package and I'm having troubles with my Iphone 3Gs and was wondering if anybody else had the same problem.

It worked awhile ago but it stopped working when they upgraded the software in the X5.
Right now, it will pair up fine and sync the address book. It'll dial or receive calls ok but as soon as the call is picked up, the other person can't hear my voice. I can hear them fine though.

I've asked the SA numerous times and they said it was a problem with the iPhone. I've searched this forum as well as the e90post forums and haven't found anybody else having the problems. Is the SA just making up BS cause I've asked him 3-4 times now and he says the same damn thing...it's the Iphone and BMW not syncing right. It's the iphone's fault since all other phones work.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Are you saying that you have other phones that work correctly with your X5? If so I'd agree with your SA (and ARD).

FWIW my wife's iPhone 3Gs works fine via Bluetooth with our 2009 35d.

I've tried 2 other iphones and they both do they same thing.
I can make and connect a call. I can hear the other person but they can't hear me.

My iphone did work initially awhile ago but it stopped working awhile ago and just attributed that to them updating my software.

Have you tried using an iPhone without plugging it in? Does anything that uses the X5's microphone work? For example, can you voice dial?

If no other phone works, then it is a problem with the car.

Try using another iPhone. You could also verify (during a call) if the audio source is correct. Sometimes iPhone switches audio source incorrectly from bluetooth to phone, when the iPOD cable is plugged in. If the audio source is not bluetooth (car's bluetooth name would appear), then you can try switching it from the phone.
