Guess what? They had inventory of 2006's at the time! Second, No. It would not be wise to attempt to hide the 2011's as if they were some shady dealer, they are a manufacturer. Model year is not the issue (re: it is still 2010 and these are 2011 models), the issue is that they are not presenting their latest version of the x5 properly. People like us (xoutpost nuts) are aware of all of the changes in detail so we are less likely to be deterred from purchasing due to this nonsense. Joe six pack who has never owned a bmw but thought he would take a look around the site because his lexus sucks might be turned off by the fact he cannot configure his potential 65k dollar purchase immediately. Consumers pay for convenience mi amigo.

Please.....are you saying that my logic isn't sound? Think of it in business terms. There may already be a few ads out. But ideally, they want to sell their current inventory.
Look at other carmakers and their websites. They may also start running ads for upcoming releases. But, they will keep the "Build Your Own" with the current model even when the upcoming model has already started trickling into the showrooms. During the overlapping period, every automaker will keep the current model on their website to try to sell the most they can.
I don't see what's the big deal. Geez!
