Car looks like it's gonna be incredible. Very nice choices. Congrats.
BTW, what do you mean no cargo cover? Is it something you now have to buy separately or has it been completely deleted for some design reason?

Cargo cover has been "deleted" from the list of standard accessories for the 3.5i (all trims). It still comes standard on 3.5d and 5.0i.

They're just gonna leave it out in the sun and weather for a month?

You should go buy a car cover to throw on it in the meantime...

thanks, im pretty excited about picking up the X5. Yes, since the 35i sport activity m sport semi-loaded is almost 70k leaves a bitter taste BMWNA feels they can delete this feature from this trim only. Pure cost cutting/profit taking. Wish they decided to delete that featue to ADD the LED corona ring headlights for the US.

You noticed that too? Was the first thing I thought of when i saw it up on the dealers roof top parking structure baking in the sun. I had them move it to the covered 2nd level. I dont remember ordering Carbon Black with "Baked" Cinnamon Brown Dakota.

I'm amazed BMW won't forgive your last months payment and let you drop of the 5er and pick up the X.

This will be my 4th consecutive BMW Financial 36 month lease. I ordered the X5 earlier than needed based on the production/delivery delays i read about on this and other forums. I ordered all 3 previous BMWs each produced and shipped from Germany. 2 of which, I needed to extend the current lease a few months. When doing this, you end up paying registration on current lease (or drive illegally un-registered for as many months as it takes to deliver new car) and then pay to register the new lease/car a few months later = double registration payments. I figured to err on the early side with the new X5 and wait vs potentially pay more.

You would think there is something BMW can do but, someone would have to absorb the last payment. Now, they could purchase and CPO my current 550i and absorb it that way but, the residual lease value is much higher than the market value so, its not in the dealers best interest in this case. However, they did do this with my last 2 BMWs without absorbing any last payments though.

Also, I had a few dealers interested in ordering this and came down to 2 dealers at the same lease price for this X5. Each, were looking for ways to get me in the car earlier to close the sale earlier. Neither came up with an option to get me out of my current lease early.

Long story, longer, Im going to pick up the X5 July 2nd. Basically, eating half of my last payment on current 550i. The wait is killing me!

Are you going to clear bra it at all ? Sounds like you didn't get a chance to test drive a 50i--were you not curious of the added HP of the 50i or was it you knew that the 35i was going to be enough ?

I'm in a similar situation but for August (I think my X will be available before my current lease expires). Do they allow you to turn in your lease before the due date or do you have to turn it in exactly on the due date?

I understand the implications of turning it in late, just never looked into the early thing.
