95 M3 track car is not drivable right now due to transmission issues. It is street legal (was an I-Stock club racer) and I would certainly drive it if I could.

(BTW, if anyone knows where to get a used 95 M3 transmission in the MA area, let me know asap.)

Been 2 months since my order (I have a confirmed order number from 5/27) and still no build date for my 35d. The dealer (Tulley BMW in Nashua, NH) had been saying 3rd week of July was confirmed but that has clearly come and gone. Now they simply have no idea for a build date.

This it pretty ridiculous whoever is at fault (BMW NA and/or dealer). Is anyone else seeing crazy diesel delays?

BTW, I got my M3 transmission located & installed from Turner Motorsport in Amesbury. Always a pleasure with the Turner crew.

I placed my order on June 14, it went into production two weeks ago, and was complete last Friday. Did you order sideview cameras or something?

I didn't order side view cameras but I may be adding them at this rate (production of side view starts August 10).

Your delay may be a dealer allocation problem?

I ordered my 2011 X5 35d from my dealer in NJ on June 29th (was able to confirm the $4,500 credit as long as the order was in by June 30th)

Car was built and completed on July 22nd. It is at final prep and expected at the dealership next week.

I wonder if your delay is due to an allocation problem at the dealer. I am speculating that he may have sold all his allocation at better prices and is holding on to your order longer than planned and waiting for new allocations.

Incredibly difficult to find out more detailed information but slot allocation issues would seem to be one of the issues. Whether my order is getting bumped to the back of the pack, I can't tell.

Unfortunately BMW customer support tells me there is nothing they can do as an order is directly between the dealer and the factory and they only get status information on the computer and generally deal with post sale issues.

If anyone has any information on who at BMW NA I can escalate to about this, let me know. Having an order for 2 months with no build date is simply ridiculous.

From my experience this is your CA's fault, and you should get a new one. My CA could tell me at any time how many slots she had left for which production month.

For example when I first contacted her and told her my requirements based on lease end, she could tell me "OK I have 7 slots for July production 35i, 4 slots for July production 50i, 2 slots for July production 35d". Those obviously changed over time and I told her to even keep me posted when there were 2 or less slots available for 35i July build and she did.

Based on what she told me, she had real-time access to this and when their dealer entered the order, the available slots immediately dropped and the order number is issued shortly thereafter when the order is confirmed by SC.

I'm picking up the race car Monday so I'll check it out when I'm there. Looking at their beautiful M3s is depressing when I look at my unwashed e36.
