Nappa leather needs to be ordered with contour?
I opened up BMW USA.com and showed him that it was not true. He then showed me the online ordering guide that I'm holding in my hands right now. It states at the bottom that nappa leather must be ordered with 456 (multi contour seats). I'm pretty upset if this is true because I decided against the contour seats but would very much like the nappa leather package. He said that once the order is placed (today) that if the system kicks it back then he'll contact me. Can someone please confirm this? Does anyone have a 2011 50i with premium and the sports package, nappa package with no multi contour? Thanks in advance.

Well, I went on the site and selected contour seats, black nappa, and nappa dash. When you then deselect the contour seats, it changes to nevada leather. That supports what the dealer is saying.
If you leave out the contour seats, you can order nappa dash with nevada leather. That doesn't sound right either. Looking at the bigger picture, are we surprised that something on the internet might not be correct? Really? The ordering guide the dealer has is far more likely to be accurate than a web configuration tool. If they bounce the order back, you will have your answer.

I think I also speak for BMW in thinking that there are few people that value the comfort of seats who would buy the crappy sport seats but sheath them in $$ Nappa. Because of that, they don't bother stocking Nappa on anything other than Comfort. I've never, ever read of anyone that regretted Comfort seats...OTOH multiple people regret the Sport seats after sitting in them for a few hours. I know you carefully researched this, but I think you are a very small minority- anyone that is inclined to spring for the Nappa prolly says "Eh, only with Comfort? $900? No big deal, do it" My 2 cents A |

As it turns out, I went with the full nappa and contour seats - you can't get the nappa without the seats.. I'm sure I'll be very pleased in the end..

Interesting twist.. I just received a call from my dealer this morning. As it turns out you CAN order the nappa without the contour!! I'm sticking with the contour seats now anyway - I can't put any more thought into this, it's already occupied too much of my time!

I think you'll be happy with the contour. After sitting in both back-to-back, the contour is the nicer of the two.
