If you are replacing the entire light assembly you can pry a screwdriver in from the middle of the car. If just the light then you can slide a device into the little slot on the outside of the clear plastic lens.

To replace the license plate light their is a slot that you stick a flat head into and then push it towards the middle of the car. It should losen up and and the whole assemble can be removed.

For the doors, I just used a flat head and popped it out at the ends of plastic light assembly. It was little harder to put back in and it required a little more force.

Hope that helps.

Ah, that's the trick! I thought that there was probably something up with that slot, but I was pushing up instead of sideways. I'll try it out tonight.

Thanks!

I just saw this thread and was wondering this..... For those of you that changed the license plate lights, do they help any when using the poor excuse for a backup cam when it's dark out?

This is to the OP (Original Poster): Great job on the lights and Thanks for sharing!

??

Are these LED's just replacement bulbs for the normal ones or is there a replacement fixture of some kind that is also added? Sorry, not familiar with them.

As you can see in the pics, it's a direct housing replacement.

Ask if they can provide LED bulbs in the 3000k-4000k range, then they won't look so blue.

That looks really nice. With a kid, and all the stuff we have to lug around, it would come in handy at night

They aren't that blue. They are most definitely pure white. It's just how the camera captures the light.
