more detailed nav map

Why isn't the map of HWYs more detailed? Look at Lexus or MB, when you pass an exit on HWY/FWY, it give you the exit# and if there's a station, bank, etc.
Our map id barely showing there's an exit.
Also, why can't I see the map on the left screen and my SAT or iPod music on the right screen? I can only have the option of onboard computer, trip/destination and another 3D map, I would pref to see what's playing than another map.
Is there an update/upgrade available?
I have '09 E70, fully loaded.
Thx all!

limited horizontal space on the right side... you would barely see the song names in the same size font. BTW, merc nav doesn't give free lifetime traffic info. Pick your poison.

Anyway, yes the old idrive is limited. I drove the new 5er recently and that screen was fricken huge. Don't know if it can do what you're asking either though.

It's not lifetime traffic, it's just a more detailed map, I have live traffic on my nav. Is 2009 iDrive old? crap!

iDrive enhancements came out with the 2010 LCI facelift. More enhancements due this October.
