NO!!!!!!!!
To the OP: If I remember correctly(this could have been on one of my other cars), there are two filters, one at each corner near the firewall. You need to remove the entire grill at the firewall by twisting the "screws" with a hex or a large flathead. Once you take the grills off, I think there are some covers with latches you can flip open with your fingers. Take the covers off and you'll see the filters.

I have easy access to the Charcoal Cabin Filters. Which I believe is what you are referring to. In addition there is a small pleated filter that is for the recirculation feature of the AC. This is what I cant find. Thanks for the help

How difficult is it to replace item #1 ? I bought the Mann original from Amazon for $25 (box of 2) Mann-Filter CU 2941-2 Cabin Air Filter I take it from a previous post they are under the large breather panels at the fire wall under the hood. Diagram only shows one filter, but there must be one on each side. Have ordered, but not received item #2 yet (behind glovebox). |

Me too, 2001. I am going to the home opener this weekend. I love going back to Athens, but I always hate leaving.
As far as that filter, I am stumped. I am not that familiar with the e70. I thought the two microfilters was all there was. I hope you can access this filter through or near the regular microfilter housings outside the car. Otherwise, if it is located inside the car, pray that BMW made this easy to get to or it could be a nightmare. I couldn't find any instructions online or from any vendors. Sorry. Maybe someone with a Bently manual can check for you.
