I cleaned out the rubber boot under the car where the drain tubes exit. It gets clogged up from road debris. And I used lawn trimmer cord to fish down through the tube as someone else suggested. Then I flushed it with water and compressed air. No more leaks!

If it's the rears, my E53 exits into the rear hatch. Open the liftgate and fish up into the sunroof with it open and then blow the compressed air through

Your door vapor seals are leaking. Pull the panels and reseal. I had this problem if the water is on the bottom of the door seals

I also got water in my trunk in the bucket under the amp. I'm trying to find the pano sunroof drain holes.. no luck. Especially in the back where the glass is covering. Does anyone have pics of the holes from the top and bottom of the car?

Thanks,
Tommy

I don't see the year of your E70, but for my 09, the outlets for the back drains are visible when you lift the tailgate. Look at the top about 6-8 inches (guessing distance) from each side. The outlets have little flaps covering them.
Sorry, I do not have pics.

I found the drain holes, thank you. They had some dirt in them but water seems to be draining fine. Also, since the tube doesn't run through the trunk area is it even possible clogged drains would cause water in the boot?

I know another possibility is the tail light seals leaking.. i posted on a separate thread about that. Looking at the tail lights though I don't really get how water from the tail light could get in the boot

Not really sure how to figure out where the water is coming from other then doing a garden hose test I guess.

So, I just found this thread...Im running in the same issue, sunroof drain tubes clogged, bunch of electronics toasted, looking at a total of 5 plus k repairs at the BMW dealership.

BMW of NA just denied my warranty claim because those are items running under maintenance and were caused by "external factors". The Service Advisor told me because the car was "parked under a tree" and the drainage got filled from debris from the tree.

I never seen in the BMW cars manual do not park under a tree nor a schedule maintenance for the drain tubes.

The car is a 2011 35d. The car was serviced all the time at the dealer. It also had the maintenance plan from BMW. - expired at this time.

I'm debating what to do next...

..
They know they have legal exposure here-there are multiple theories: cars need to be designed to withstand parking outside, maybe under a tree. They have a duty to design the car OR provide a maintenance instructions to avoid failures. They did not do so (neither design it property or provide maintenance instructions), and furthermore they claim to have provided all necessary maintenance.

The do, however, know that it will cost you 300k plus to litigate this....

What components are bad? Have you priced these outside the dealership ecosystem? (ie online)
