![]() Could someone please post the pics of the front drain tubes? A step by step DIY would be awesome as well. Google or YouTube has yet to produce any results. Thanks in advance! Last edited by bimmer_nc; 02-11-2018 at 06:20 PM. |

Hi, i had the same problem however doesn't matter how much compressed air or water i poured down the tube in wouldnt clear! So decided to get to the end of the tube and modify it so this doesnt happen again!
Also for those searching tirelessly for a picture -like me!! - here you are! Mine was fully clogged with sand till about a quarter way up! I ended up taking the end off so theres no restrictions anymore even if any more sand or dirt goes through. Last edited by Rizy102; 10-02-2018 at 06:08 PM. |

Good idea, my vw had an annoying restrictive end like that too, I wonder why?
Also check to see that the line isn't twisted/kinked from inside the cabin where it leads to the outside drain that you opened up. The factory installed a few twisted like my driver's side one. |

Oh man.. I'm having the same freaken issue! I had so much water in both the passenger side and driver side trunk area that my tailgate lift module was 3 inches deep in the water!!! I didn't' even know that would be an issue until the tailgate failed and I opened that area to check the fuse if it failed. Taking to my mech ended up costing me about $800 as the tailgate lock mechanism failed as well!
I had watched many videos on clearing the rains on the front of the sunroof. Where the heck are the rears ones? My X5 E70 has the panorama roof and I can't see then rear drains. But this is definitely a problem as fall is here and each night it rains, I notice water pooling there. So I'll also ask, has anyone figure out how the heck to clear the rear drains? Are there any pictures or DIY guides that you can please share? |

On my car they exit at the top. If you open the tailgate its behind the third brakelight on the body though.

On older e70 they don't exit at the top, not sure where the info is but it's more problematic for them.

Thats odd as mine is a 2006 model which is the earliest one. When i took the roof lining off i could see clearly where the rear drain pipes went. Before that I didn't have a clue!!
