I spoke to someone at Dinan and they never said anything about having to send the computer module to Dinan. I was under the impression that it could be done at the dealership. Just out of curiousity, what dealership did u deal with?

OMG... A bmw dealer possibly LYING to make more money?!?!? There's a shocker.

Dinan's warranty is designed and marketed as a supplemental warranty that picks up where the BMW warranty stops. They cover consequential damage (beyond the Dinan components) for failures attributed to the Dinan components. Still, with two separate warranty providers (BMW and Dinan) it would be advisable IMO to have your servicing dealer involved in the Dinan sale, as they can then act as your representative to both BMW and Dinan for any warranty claims.
