Can improper wheel alignment make car vibrate or shimmy?
I just bought a 2007 Sport, love the car, but have a concern. The overall handling is nice, but I feel it vibrates or shimmies when I go over even small bumps. I understand that RFT give you a rough ride, but it almost feels like there are no shocks. I went to the dealer, they say nothing wrong with suspension, but it does need a wheel alignment. Do you think that improper wheel alignment can actually be a cause of the vibration? Is anybody here from Brooklyn, NY area? Thanks |

If the alignment has been out for some time, then the tires will have worn unevenly. That can cause vibration. By itself, alignment doesn't usually cause vibration. Being out of balance can cause vibration, or something loose in the suspension.

Recommend they check the current condition of the wheel bearings in addition to the alignment.

Did it exhibit this behavior during the test drive and Pre-Purchase Inspection?
