Quick reply..

I got ventilated seats (I like the Sand Beige color anyway). It is a subtle effect, but it keeps me from getting "sticky" in the seat, and it makes things more comfortable. You might not miss it, though.

I did get auto high beams - very nice little option; works very well.

I would have LOVED a side-view camera, but evidently, it comes as part of the Active Cruise Control, which I didn't get (perhaps the only option I should have reconsidered). If it's separate, my dealer didn't mention / know about it when I asked.

He actually steered me away from Active Steering - he said many customers that choose that option come in with bent / dented rims from overcompensating in the parking lot.

While parking can be something of a chore in this vehicle, I also rather prefer the heavy steering at lower speeds. It's taken some getting used to for me, but I like it better this way.

Adaptive drive might have been nice, but I read many reviews that it will affect the ride quality. I don't know if that's true, but likewise - after so much in options, I decided to stop.

Very happy with what I got, so far.

And I second the comment that the PAINFUL wait disappears the instant you sit in your own for the first time.

The side camera is a stand alone option, NOT part of the active cruise control. Option code is 05DK - $300

I should have looked on YouTube first. It seems.. less useful than I imagined.

(I love the "top down" camera, however)

Is this the same option that monitors roadsigns to tell me what the speed limit is? (or did I read that wrong somewhere)

Order Time for X5 35d

I ordered mine on Sept 21 and it is scheduled to arrive Oct 18 (4 weeks if I pick it up on the 19th).

It was tough finding the Multi Contour seats in anything but a 7 series. Finally found them in an X6 and ordered mine.

I went for simple commuter and cheap tire replacement cost w.r.t. the suspension. This isn't my track car so comfort to the office was key. Options are listed below for clarity, but the side view camera on my order was 3AH and was included in one of the option packages (Tech I believe).

Mine was built a month before my PCD also. The wait was agonizing but worth it. You're going to have a blast.

Congrats!
