I was at this euro tuner shop that I always goto for my parts today looking to change the colour of my angel eyes from yellow to white and tried various options.

-mtech globes (no where near bright enough to even light up the second ring)

- LED marker kid same design as your link there ( lights up the inner right perfectly, but the outer ring is significantly darker..ended up getting these but wanted to see how they looked in true darkness..)

-HID kit (definitely the better option in my mind but I didnt want to have to hang a ballast somewhere else as I wanted a fully enclosed solution where I could put the rubber seals on the back of the headlight)

Neil,

You can talk to member brabus on e60 who does HID's and i heard they look sick-i know Kerry got them and C says he is very good- i am just going to go with GP thunders as they are cheap and look decent- cant beat $20 bucks.

Best of luck
Yusuf

I have installed XENTEC HID on my other vehicle (RAM 3500) and it works great. It's as bright as daylight. The problem with installing this on the E70 CORONA lights is that you have to remove the rubber seal completely to accomodate the wiring for the ballast.

Anyone else using a similar kit? where abouts have you mounted the small ballast?

Im just a tad worried about how hot it gets, and it sitting on top of other wires..I dont want it to melt anything..

someone mounted their ballasts on the wiper fluid resevoir and the fuse box.
They get warm, but certainly shouldn't be getting super hot. Most ballasts are mounted with zip ties or double stick tape... if it doesn't melt those, it sure as hell shouldn't melt a wiper fluid resivoir or fuse box. If yours are getting hot enough to melt plastic, you've got a problem.

I have mine VVME.com normal ballasts mounted on my fuse box with no problems.. on the other side I have one on the fender and the other down a little lower... no problems at all..
