Turbo lag on a 2011 X5 35d

Anybody expriencing a turbo lag on their X5?
Mine is really horrible to a point that is quite scary especially on an intersection coming from standstill and you gun the accelerator.
Is this normal?
I have an 08 E60 with a twin turbo engine and there is no such turbo lag on that car.

The word is the Diesel has the most lag amongst the current engine offerings in the X5 lineup. Try using the DS mode for improved feel. Another option is to chip the ECU for enhanced performance.

you can search several threads that talk about this...bottom line.........don't step on it........you need to let the low end turbo speed build up before the high end turbo is effective.........step on the pedal with a steady increase, and you'll be at speed in no time...........this might even be true for the gas versions......but on the diesel, you need to reconsider your technique........

No lag here and I know what BMW lag is about from my 335i.

Many, many threads written about this here plus other boards. The 335i had a transmission lag starting in 2nd gear...

Do a through search.

Serious lag here. Really bad and it affects the driving dynamics.

It's not your imagination. Mine is gas, and there is slight lag. You cannot step on it. It has to be slightly gradual.
