So far, his number is pretty good IF I include my 20s. I guess I'm saying that in this experience, the dealer wants the 20s (or included in the deal), it makes it a more desirable auto. He didn't seem to care much about the 19s.
Thanks for sharing...I think it ultimately depends on the dealer you're returning it to...It's not intuitive for me to believe a dealer would balk at an OEM upgrade in a lease return.

Hell, I might even keep the thing after only 36 mos

I turned in an "08 4.8 last month to the "Lease Return" Manager at my originating dealer. He did all the inspectiions right there with no oversight by BMWNA (the lease holder). He indicated he would CPO it immediately and it would be on his used car lot the next day. My recommendation would be to seek out this kind of guy at your dealer.

If these cars are in great shape, the dealer will want to take it as a trade so it won't matter. I've done 3 cars like this and they always want to buy it so they can put it on their lot to sell. If they lease end the vehicle, it must head to auction. So I guess the answer to your question would be, see if you can work a trade instead of lease ending it. If you are getting another BMW you save on the taxes as well..........Phil

I've done it. My '05 non sport came with 18s and all seasons. I turned it in with OEM 19s and summer tires. No issues.
