Creaking seats?

The front seats in my 2011 X5 35i Premium seem to be creaking some with weight transfer when starting and stopping. At first I thought it might be the seat belts but I'm pretty sure it's not. Anyone anything like this? The seats are the base, non multi-contour seats.

Thanks
Ben

Mine do as well. I think it's just a normal thing (not that it should be). I had them adjust the seat bolts and that fixed it a bit

My 2008 4.8i did it HORRIBLY! From basically day one. My 2007 3.0si did it as well. Luckily, knock on wood/touch wood....my 2011 35d does NOT creak. Sh*t, I really hope I did not just jinx myself saying my '11 E70 does not have creaky seats!!!

Angry Creaking Seats

I have a 40d with creaking multi-contour seats that drive me nuts. Has anyone found a fix for this? I think in my case the backrest is at-least part of the problem.

So the Drivers seat on our '13 started squeaking/creaking recently. Seems to get worse when its cold out. Car is equipped with the comfort seats.

Been searching around the web, seems like a lot of chatter around 2011 about this issue. And some mention of a Service bulletin pertaining to it (haven't found the SB yet).

There is apparently a test plan for the seat squeak (TEST PLAN AM5201_00012-FRONT SEAT), and appears to be a very common issue (hard to believe at this level, but..)

Fixes seem to range from replacing seat components, to entire seats. Appears some dealerships take the seats apart to find misaligned springs, etc.).

I'm obviously out of warranty, hoping someone has found an 'easy' fix for this issue?

P.S. - Rear Hatch creaks as well. I've adjusted the stops a couple of times, but there seems to be little if any improvement, afraid to keep 'running them out' for fear of it shortening the lifespan of the 'soft close' electric latch..

Thread of 2011....

but still relevant apparently

my drivers seat creaks, the very bottom plastic part needs a little push and it's gone for a while. Will add a bit of cloth-tape in the right spots to solve it.

hood used to 'tock' at flexing in slow turns over bumps: covered the stops (left and right, window side) and it's gone.

tailgate had a 'rat' (as in single rattle), adjusted the catch (body side) of the bottom tailgate and it's gone for now.

roof whistles since second repair (first was ok. second because rear got stuck again, had rear fixed in place, now front whistles when closes and howls when on ventilation. Now it's clear why the rear part pops up at ventilation: no howl of whistle (but high probability of getting stuck open).

pass. door creacks/draft: will try to lubricate, no damage in sight.

lots of noises from loose cargo in the various plastic compartments: must line them with sth. soft.

The blower has a high pitched whine at certain speeds. Aging, lubrication failing, especially when cold. Standard issue with E39, remove dashboard, replace unit, assemble. No thanks, just use the non-auto setting for a while....

Must have been a terrible car to buy new for a fortune. My 10 year old (392000km) E39 never had this kind of beginner car builders problems.

I had creaking from the bottom of the passenger seat. I removed the plastic trim pieces on the bottom side and from the bottom front - both just pulled off. Haven't put them back on, but I suspect adding some cloth tape to the points of the plastic that are shiny from rubbing - will stop the creaking when I put them back on
