Just ordered a 2012 X5 50 M-Sport

First, thank you to everyone who posts on this website. I have learned a great deal from many of the posts and it helped make the decision.

I can't wait to take delivery of my 2012 X5 50. Here are the specs

My previous ride was a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT. What a HUGE upgrade this will be.

I will post pics and provide a review in about 4 weeks when I take delivery. My CA Eric in Mt. Laurel, NJ (15 miles from Philly) was great! He provided excellent advice and was very knowledgeable about all of the options.

Thanks Rez and I appreciate the advice on 3M! I first read about the rock chip potential here and it is top of my list. If not for this site or others similar, I would have a sand-blasted car in 10,000 miles or less. I'm definitely going to arrange to have the dealer or a local service provider put the 3M on before we drive off the lot.

Congrats on your new order. Wishing you many enjoyable miles. #1 on the 3M protection. Try to get it somewhere other than the dealer. Their prices are a rip off. Here at my dealer in Mn, they want $1200 for it!

Congrats on your order...BMW of Mt. Laurel is the best! I've been dealing with them for many years, when they were DeSimone BMW.

+1 on the 3M Clear Bra...I had my rockers and fender flares done...a must with the M Sport Package!

Thanks AwesomeM3! BMW of Mt. Laurel is a very impressive operation and I'm sure I will be dealing with them in the future as well.

I was wondering what parts to 3M and will take your advice on the rockers and fender flares. I am also going to consider doing the front bumper and maybe the front of the hood.

I appreciate the congrats and tips Kakalika. I'm originally from Minnesota - near Alexandria. Good to see a fellow Minnesotan on this board. I will do some research to see who in this area can do the 3M for me besides the dealer.

Fiver nice specs. I ordered a 2012 X5 50i with M Sport Package as well. However, I ordered about 3 weeks ago and it has yet to go to production, so can you please let me know when your car goes from "On Order" to "Start of Production" via the BMW online tracking system. Not that you care, but my specs are as follows:

Space Gray Metallic
M-Sport Package with 20s
Perforated Nevada Black Leather
Multi-Contour
Dark Burl Walnut
Premium Audio
Tech Package
Premium Package
Rear Seat Entertainment
Lane Departure
Third Row Seat
BMW Apps

I check multiple times a day via the website and the 1 800 number, but I've been getting the same message the last couple of weeks . . . your car is on order and it has been assigned a production pack. If I don't see any movement in the next 2 weeks, I am thinking about canceling my order and trying it with another dealership in my area.

Wow, you have an awesome configuration! My X5 is still "On Order" online and "is scheduled for production but has not started production" according to the 1-800 number. I will let you know when it shifts to "Start of Production". My CA assured me that they have an X5 50 allocation that was ready to move into production right away so I hope to see some advancement soon. I would be frustrated if nothing changed after 3 weeks...
