I tried to order "OEM LED Daytime running light retrofit (straight bar) BMW Part
#63302184000" and was told that it's not available for US BMW dealers to order. I found them on eBay: BMW Philips OEM Retrofit Kit LED Daytime Driving Lights E46 E90 E63 E60 X5 Z4 X3 | eBay

Don't know about in North America, but the E70 X5 we get in Australia, the right side front vents has actual holes through the grill. This is to let air through to the transmission (I think) oil cooler radiator.
If you look at these, both are solid pieces. http://www.cjgarage.com/Sales/FG-BME70-DRL/1.jpg

I think everyone is entitled to thier own opinion here. Your right answers are not easily obtainable on this forum. Yet you pay a certain amount to become a member for a certain amount of days. Don't get me wrong these forums are the best resource. Lets face it, we are a community of automobile owners sharing information regardless of what type of information we maybe looking for. Some members are excellent with helping each other out, but unfortunately, there are some that aren't helpful at all.
In regards, to your DRL(s) I personally think they are quite attractive to the BMW E70. I was thinking about putting them on my recently purchase 2007 E70. What I want to know is how and to what you wired your to if you did it yet. My sugesstion is to find an ACC wire under the hood. I will be searching for one all next week, if I find one, then I will purchase them and install them. BTW an 'ACC' wire will give you current (juice) once you turn the car on the "ON" postition and stay on when you start the car. I don't want to splice them to the Angel Eyes because that will give you errors. I hope all this helps. Don't feel bad, members here are mostly useful at sharing information.

My US 4.8i has a vented driver side lower grill with a cooler behind it. would those snap in replacements work??? can you take the light bar off of it and place it onto the stock vented rear grill?
(the ebay ones not the oem ones) |

seems like they are plug and play but you lose your fog lights in favor of them if you don't wire them yourself. Last edited by skunkd; 10-28-2012 at 02:03 AM. |
