1. Make sure Sirius, SOS and Nviogation are all activated and working
2. Go over the paint with a fine tooth comb- as if you were a dermatologist inspecting a patient for melanomas.... look at the paint surface for any dimple or scratch. Once you leave the lot, they will not do a thing for you, even if you find something tomorrow when washing it. Everything else, RTFM. I just get annoyed listening to CAs speak. A |

Pair your Phone
setup BMW assist account; mine came with a free 4 yr subscription learn to use a few controls if you hadn't owned a BMW before Read all paperwork before signing Don't sign up for tire/wheel warranty. Contact discount tire today and buy their road hazard. some tires like Dunlop/Michellin come with road harzard. Bridgestone dueler's didn't come with it. Call your SA and ask what brand of tires it has on. The car comes with a CD which tells you what brand has road hazard and which don't - the dealer won't tell you this. Don't buy paint sealant warranty. This one has it all..rather too much I'd say; I wasn't able to do all this - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...checklist.html There are some things you can do even later...main thing check paint/seats etc..once out of the door..all the damage belongs to you. All the navi, bluetooth, BMW assist can be done later also and if not working will be fixed under warranty. Last edited by smuggymba; 04-21-2011 at 02:51 PM. |

They gave you all the pointers you need, so I will just give you the props. Congrats on joining the X5 world, and a double bonus for the diesel. I bought mine 4 months ago, and love it. Just getting the hitch installed as I type. Although diesel is crazy high at over $4, the 27MPG is a simi relief at the pump.
Enjoy and welcome. |

Wow, i won't complain about $4.09 a gallon of diesel here in MA!
Been driving our 2011 x5d for a month now and it's just awesome, perfect balance of luxury, utility and just plain fun driving! |

One other thing to check - if yours has satellite radio, make SURE that it's set up completely and reflects the correct "gratis" period before you drive off!!! Otherwise it will take you hours to get it all straightened out!
