I am fully aware of the warranty issue, I have a 20k mod e46 M3, and a 12k mod RS4, also my G37S have some small mod done. At the first day I dropping these down pipe, exhaust, intake, big brakes, software in the car I know there will be a risks. So far, I haven't have any problem with these mod in all of my cars up to the date I sell them. What I didn't know is "BMW gives bonuses to technicians that catch modified software" WOW! first time to me

All vehicle data is captured, is not hard for them to detect any modification software, easy money for them

I read about the mix comments on JB 3 juice box for N54. So, sound like no one here try out the JB for N55 engine on X5

Dinan and Active Autowerke don’t have any for X5 35i, only for 50i. As of Vinshu, don’t know who they are.

I have the JB3 in my X5. Honestly, not that big of a difference, I have to strain to notice a change in daily driving. Timing with a vbox I had an average of 6.1 sec 0-60 and with the JB3 it averaged 5.9 (didn't run the 1/4). I had a Procede on my 335xi and that was a massive difference (about 0.7 sec faster in 0-60 and about 1 sec faster in the 1/4 mile).

I hope the n55 tunes catch up to where the n54 are now...Would love to see a higher stage JB, Procede, or Cobb solution in the near future!

Both Vishnu Procede and Burgertuning JB4/JB3 are widely used in 135/335/535 (N54 and now N55) world. Both are relatively troubleless, have similar gains and are similarly easily installed/uninstalled. Both will probably void your warranty if car is brough to the dealer with tune inside. So, the key is - before dealers visit, remove it, get the BT scan tool and remove any tune related codes (if any).
I used JB products on my both 335i (2007 and 2010) without any problems.

I'd always vote for a professional programming that takes ALL parts of the system into account (like VANOS activation, valvetronic, etc. especially since valvetronic IS the throttle control on the N55) such as DINAN, which is also accepted by BMW warranty over some plug and play "tuner" that simply modifies the signals from the intake air temp, coolant and oil temp, etc.

Before my friend got his M3, he had a 335 with that chip thing from burgertuning. Big difference.

I have the regular 3.0i. I'm getting the AAutowerks ECU remapping to increase HP by 15HP. Dont really need it - family man with child here. But, I'll do it for kicks ... after I finish everything else.

Simply put, I think it's worth it ... being in a car that had it.
