this would be a good place to ask if you spent $2k out of pocket in repairs the following 2 years out of warranty... cause that's how much the extension costs (and still doesn't cover everything)...

I'm confused...
(actually I am not, others are) But pads and rotors are MAINTENANCE items, and are not covered under WARRANTY. And a warranty extension is $4700, and still doesn't cover maintenance items..and a maintenance extension is $2000+ and maintenance (properly shopped) should be less than that! OP asked "post warranty"... |

4700 for 2 years - ok that made up my mind - I'd pass. Another 4 years I'd consider it.

Has anybody that has put 50K+ miles had brakes done at an Indy and how much was it ? I don't see too many owners post prices since majority are still under warranty (since most lease). I'd be curious as to the Indy price for full 4 pads and rotors--most Indys probably haven't seen too many e70s come in since they are fairly new.

Mine was the rear diff. Cost was 3.5k but they have me it for 1.5k. Still a rip off but atleast I get a 2 year warranty with that.

Do you think this kind of work is 'year/model' specific? I kinda don't think so....
Should be parts cost, plus an hours per axle...IMO. Do the math. I suppose one might ask 'whats the book time for pads and rotors' When consumers lead with the "I have an E70 BMW...." you are just inviting "Oh, that model is a bit more involved, so it is $1750 for front and rear". FYI, it is 8 pads and 4 rotors. Rear rotors are 135 each, pads about 120 for the rear set. So we are up to $900-950 for OE bmw parts for all 4 wheels (front and rear) And 240 labor to install I will usually go through 2-3 front sets for each rear set. And do keep in mind that these are OE BMW parts/prices.... Dave zeckhausen usually has equivalent parts for less. |

Well yeah...but everyone knows with a JB piggyback to the OE FC you can ramp up the power to a reliable 1.33 JW with no codes thrown for only $499.
