Sure, but will you risk your warranty with that?!?!?!

Hey, if I ever had a problem with it, I would simply accelerate to 88mph and travel to a previous time before I had installed the piggyback.

And if that didn't work, I'd get Chistopher LLoyd to go down to the dealer and kick their collective @$$3$ and throw them into the Mr. Fusion unit.

Now that's one option I'll have to have on my next X with the way fuel prices are...

let's see what I can recall so far (still under warranty for 8 more months)...

moonroof wind deflector housing out of alignment - replaced entire cassette after fix failed 3 times
trim pieces tearing, wood hairline crack on rear door
brake sensors / new pads
idrive screen intermittently dark - replaced screen

So in over 3 years, the biggest and only issue that I would've actually done despite the warranty coverage is the idrive screen cause you just can't live without it.

Mine is currently at 56k but it's a CPO but I think it will be helpful to let you know what has gone wrong

On the non-maintenance side:
-Seat bolts had to be tightened due to seat pitching forward during stopping
-Rearview/Mirror and Passengers airbag indictor come on without warning (or anyone in the passenger seat)-still working on this one
-Drivers side mirror glass had to be tightened
On the maintenance side:
-1 Oil Change 15k service
-Spark plug replacement

Spark plugs already ? Was there an issue ? I know on my e53 they weren't supposed to be replaced until 100K miles.

Nope. Per the dealer it was part of my service interval

There are two service intervals:

1. Recommended by BMW, based on engineering analysis

2. After the free service is over, recommended by dealer, based on Service Writers summer vacation expenditure plans

But in all truthfulness, I do not run plugs to 100k- on my M5 I do it at 40,50k...and on the turbo they barely last 20k! (And that will run $800 at the dealer- I have it down to just under 3 hours)

71K 2008 E70. so far only out of warranty repair was a DTRL. $130 or so.

my SAT module is suspect but the dealer has offered to replace it for 1/2 of normal cost as i have been noting its foibles since day 1.

so my question these days is more along the lines of "what to freshen", as typically BMWs of days-gone-by always seem to benefit from new suspension bits.

any thoughts on bushing, control arm, strut, shock replacements for higher mileage E70s?
