On my 2008 they are on the right side, labelled with a star and a diamond. Don't know about a 2012.

[QUOTE=JCL;823297]6 Buttons. 6 FM radio stations.

No Nav, by choice. I know my way home, I guess. Is that really a frequent use of the navigation system?

Just drove back from Orlando and it was nice to just push one button after the vallet gave back my car to start the 3 hour drive home without fumbling thru the Nav screens.

They ditched these on all BMWs starting in 2009 I believe.

I also don't see the point of nav in any of the program buttons. Voice Control is easy enough, plus iDrive is fairly intuitive. Takes me all of 30-40 seconds on the old and new iDrive.

I still have those on my '09. What does the wheel look like on the '11? Are the buttons different?

Yeah, the buttons on the steering wheel are now fixed on the more recent models and you can not program them to what you want.
1 is recirculate air
2 is change audio source

...I think.

pushin buttons

Mine:
1-2 phone #'s
3-4 radio stations
5 Nav search for nearest Diesel stations (saw this somewhere else, great idea, works great). (Might not be a good idea if you don't have a Diesel).

I need to get one of those cool sig lines...

It's now set/icon as Change audio source and Recirculate Air (or lane departure warning, if equipped). Perhaps it came with the iDrive update on 2010 models.

Great idea on the Nav search for diesel - just added that to position 3; thanks!
